Christie’s International Real Estate Expands Caribbean Portfolio To Saba Island

The move is part of the brand’s strategy to bring increased services and exposure to home buyers and sellers on smaller, less populated Caribbean islands

Global real estate network Christie’s International Real Estate continues to expand its Caribbean footprint, announcing it will serve the Dutch Caribbean island of Saba through a preferred-broker relationship with established local firm Saba Island Properties. The arrangement is part of a larger strategy by Christie’s International Real Estate Caribbean to bring increased services, opportunities and exposure to buyers, sellers, and owners of luxury homes on smaller, less populated islands in the Caribbean Sea.

At only five square miles, and with a population of less than 2,000 residents, Saba is one of the smallest islands in the Caribbean. Often referred to as the “unspoiled queen of the Caribbean,” Saba eschews high-rises and megaresorts for discreet cottages and homes, all surrounding the highest point on the island – and in all of the Netherlands – the aptly-named Mount Scenery, at 2,910 feet. Easily accessible by ferry or a short flight from St. Maarten, the island is a haven for adventure seekers, who come to hike or dive.

Christie’s International Real Estate Caribbean is currently co-listing three homes on the island with Saba Island Properties, including two that currently operate as vacation rentals. The listings are jointly marketed by Anna Adair, broker of record for Christie’s International Real Estate Caribbean, based in St. Thomas, USVI, and Albert & and Michael of Saba Island Properties.

The Christie’s International Real Estate brand has been on a steep growth trajectory in the Caribbean over the past year, adding affiliates brokerage firms in the Dutch territories of Aruba and St. Maarten, as well as Puerto Rico and St. John, and opening a new office on St. Croix. The brand also has an established presence in The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, St. Barth’s, The Cayman Islands, and the British Virgin Islands.

A ‘network within a network,’ Christie’s International Real Estate Caribbean was created to strengthen the brand’s commitment to serving the Caribbean luxury real estate market by centralizing regional operations and encouraging inter-island cooperation among member firms. Through the alliance, member firms and their clients receive enhanced services and support.

The alliance also enables, for the first time, top-tier branding and marketing opportunities for property listings on smaller islands like Saba.
